Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, said that Shehbaz Sharif has failed to move the country forward.
While addressing a farmers’ convention in Mardan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he had previously mentioned that the economy has declined to such an extent that no incoming government would be able to revive it.
He stressed that when law and order deteriorate, the economy suffers as well.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized Shehbaz Sharif for being unable to improve the country’s economy, despite his claims to uplift it.
He highlighted that Shehbaz Sharif traveled to China to seek investment, but the Chinese government expressed concerns over the lack of political stability and poor law and order situation in Pakistan.
The Chinese government made it clear that investment would not be possible under such conditions.
He further questioned the unnecessary import of wheat from abroad, pointing out that so much wheat was imported that the locally produced wheat was left unsold in farmers’ homes.
