Former Cricketer warns: Gary Kirsten’s coaching future with Pakistan at risk

A significant forecast regarding the future of Gary Kirsten, Pakistan’s current white-ball coach, has been made by former Test cricketer Basit Ali.

On his YouTube channel, Basit Ali suggested that Gary Kirsten may be ousted from his job after the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.

He said it would be a major accomplishment for Pakistan if the 56-year-old South African, who is the team’s head coach, could guide the national cricket team into the top four in the Champions Trophy.

Kirsten, who assumed his duties at the start of the year, was in charge of the Green Shirts’ underwhelming performance during the T20 World Cup.

They were eliminated from the competition after suffering an unexpected loss to the rising American squad.

Basit Ali went on to say that while Kirsten is lucky to have the chance to coach Pakistan during the Champions Trophy, he will likely be leaving soon after the competition.

Notably, Kirsten took part in an important PCB meeting on Monday that covered topics including team cohesiveness, management, and player workload.

One of Kirsten’s coaching accomplishments was winning the 2011 World Cup with India.
