Women’s cricket breaking barriers: Jahangir Tareen at Tareen cricket academy

Jahangir Khan Tareen, during a visit to the Tareen Cricket Academy in Lodhran, emphasized the pivotal role of sports in uplifting young women from marginalized communities.

He noted that women’s participation in cricket not only enhances career opportunities and self-confidence but also challenges societal norms. “Cricket empowers women to break the status quo,” Tareen stated. “Encouraging greater female involvement in sports will lead to healthier communities and a brighter future for generations to come.”

Ali Khan Tareen, owner of the Multan Sultans, highlighted the academy’s grassroots initiatives, focusing on the development of female cricketers.

He pointed out that the academy offers state-of-the-art facilities and coaching, helping local players like Sher Bano, Nasreen Ashraf, Sawera Zafer, and Rameen Roshan represent the region in national PCB tournaments.

“Our priority is women’s empowerment,” Ali Tareen said. “The progress of women will fuel the overall development of our region. We are committed to completing welfare projects in education, health, sports, and women’s empowerment, ensuring women interested in sports receive every possible facility.”

To further support the players, Ali Tareen distributed international-standard cricket bats from England to the girls, reinforcing the academy’s dedication to their growth and development.
