Rain knocks Lions out of Champions Cup

Rain forced the cancellation of the Markhors vs. Lions Champions One Day Cup Eliminator.

Due to rain and a soggy outfield, the Friday night match in Faisalabad was called off without a toss. Because of their higher standing in the league stage points system, the Markhors were permitted to proceed to the Champions One Day Cup final following the cancelation.

Panthers had previously guaranteed their place in the Champions Cup final.

The Lions advanced to the top four despite playing poorly in the round robin games because of a superior run average and one victory.

The Lions had kept their title chances alive by defeating the Stallions in a dramatic match in the first eliminator, but rain dashed those dreams.

The final of the Champions One Day Cup between Panthers and Markhors will take place on Sunday at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
