Amazon’s Project Kuiper plans to launch satellite internet in Pakistan by the end of 2026. The service will bring high-speed broadband using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.
The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication shared the update after a meeting with Amazon’s Kuiper team. Federal Minister Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja led the session in Islamabad.
Project Kuiper aims to provide fast internet in areas with weak or no coverage. The project will target remote and underserved regions across Pakistan.
The minister welcomed Amazon’s move. She said better internet access supports Pakistan’s digital future. She also noted that the project fits the goal of building a connected and inclusive Digital Pakistan.
Amazon will set up ground stations in the country. These include gateways and Points of Presence (PoPs). The team wants to make the service strong and reliable for local users.
Project Kuiper plans to use over 3,200 satellites. These will provide internet speeds up to 400 Mbps. The terminals will remain low-cost and user-friendly.
