American universities witness a 16% rise in Pakistani student enrollment

The number of Pakistani students in America has recorded a substantial increase of sixteen (16) percent this year and this number has exceeded ten thousand. According to the annual “Open Doors Report” regarding the data of international students studying in the United States by the US Department of State and the Institute of International Education.

According to the report, last year this number was 8772 which has increased to 10164. In total, there has been an increase of (33) percent in the number of Pakistani students in the last two years. This year, with the increase of sixteen percent, Pakistan has joined the list of eight countries in the world where the number of international students has increased.

In one of his statements, Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to America, welcomed the increasing number of Pakistani students in American universities. He has said that the growth of 16 percent this year and 33 percent in the last two years is very encouraging, and will double this number in the next three years.

He said that the presence of male and female students from every region of Pakistan in American universities not only reflects the close bilateral relations in the field of education, but this trend is a guarantee of further strengthening of Pakistan-US relations in the future.
