The discussion around India’s possible tour of Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 has been addressed by Rajeev Shukla, vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
This eight-team competition, which is slated to take place in February and March of 2025, will undoubtedly be hosted by Pakistan, as ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has announced.
India’s involvement is still up in the air, though, as the BCCI is still awaiting government clearance for the tour.
Shukla stressed that the government’s position will determine any decisions made for foreign tours, saying, “At this point, no decisions have been made.” For overseas visits, it is our policy to obtain official approval.
He declared that when it comes to trip to Pakistan, the BCCI will respect whatever decision made by the government.
Since the 2008 Asia Cup, India has not traveled to Pakistan, mostly because of continuing political hostilities between the two countries.
