Energy infrastructure stakeholders in Pakistan took the decision to begin construction on the White Oil Pipeline Project, with support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
The 477-kilometre project would connect Pakistan’s key locations such as Machike, Thalian, and Taru Jabba, effectively strengthening the country’s oil distribution infrastructure. Taking 477 km in length, the project connects the key locations in Pakistan, including Machike, Thalian, and Taru Jabba, and has significantly enhanced the country’s oil distribution system. Pakistan State Oil (PSO), PARCO, and the Inter-State Gas System are leading the move, with construction being done by Frontier Works Organisation.
Designed parallel with the motorway, this two-stage pipeline would connect Attock Refinery to prime locations like Chak Pirana and Faqirabad, so oil transportation in the region might take place more smoothly and efficiently.
This project would possibly save billions of rupees through transportation-cost reduction with the construction of the pipeline. One of the consequential objectives of this project is to reduce the risk of adulteration of petroleum products by promoting a better supply and introducing more effective safety measures.
The annual capacity of the pipeline is 7 million tonnes, and it can be stretched up to 10 million tonnes in the future. The approach looks for a system that diminishes dependence on road transport while adding to the environmental friendliness of oil delivery operations with improved overall efficiency.
Expediency in completing this project would point toward the vision of the government and SIFC toward creating such a development for the petroleum sector of Pakistan. At last, the White Oil Pipeline Project will pave for the future new energy map of the country where this fuel will be available at a relatively better price with more reliability.
