According to NASA experts, Earth’s gravity will temporarily capture a small asteroid into its orbit next week turning it into a “second moon” that will revolve around the Earth. However, its light will not resemble that of the actual moon.
Experts further stated that this new moon has been named 2024 PT5. Two months later, the asteroid will break free from Earth’s orbit and rejoin the Milky Way. The length of this “mini-moon” is approximately 33 feet and such space rocks pose no threat to Earth.
