ISLAMABAD: Easypaisa, Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform, has played a key role in the disbursement of financial assistance under Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Fuel Package 2026. The initiative aims to provide relief to citizens amid rising fuel prices, ensuring fast, secure, and transparent distribution of subsidies.

Easypaisa facilitated the first batch of payments to truck operators, followed by disbursements for tank lorries, buses, and motorcycles. In total, the platform transferred PKR 1.2 billion to over 32,000 beneficiaries, including operators of long-haul vehicles, delivery vans, and public transport buses.

By leveraging its extensive digital network, easypaisa allows beneficiaries to receive funds directly through its mobile wallet, eliminating long queues and complicated procedures. Recipients can easily withdraw cash, pay bills, or make digital purchases through the platform.

Jahanzeb Khan, CEO of Easypaisa, said the partnership with the government highlights how digital banks can enhance efficiency and transparency in public welfare programs while empowering citizens with easier access to financial services.

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised the initiative, noting that digital payment platforms like Easypaisa are crucial for advancing Pakistan’s vision of a cashless and digitally empowered economy.

With over 59 million registered users and a wide-reaching agent network, Easypaisa continues to support financial inclusion and streamline government-to-person payments, ensuring subsidies reach the intended recipients quickly and efficiently.
