ICC unveils all-female match officials for Women’s T20 World Cup 

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed an all-female panel of match officials for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to begin in the UAE on October 3.

A total of 13 match officials, comprising 10 umpires and three match referees, have been appointed to oversee the tournament, highlighting the finest talent in women’s cricket.

Claire Polosak, who has officiated in four previous Women’s T20 World Cups, will lead the panel. Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams are also returning for their fourth appearances.

Cotton and Williams previously officiated the final of the last edition, which featured Australia and South Africa. Sue Redfern, who was the TV umpire for that final, also returns.

Sarah Dambanevana from Zimbabwe is making her debut as an umpire in the Women’s T20 World Cup, joining other seasoned officials selected for their recent performances.

Sean Easey, ICC Senior Manager for Umpires and Referees, expressed pride in the all-female team, underscoring the ICC’s dedication to promoting women in cricket.

Easey praised the officials, emphasizing their selection based on strong performances in recent bilateral and other cricket matches, expressing confidence in their abilities.

The group of umpires includes Lauren Agenbag, Kim Cotton, Sarah Dambanevana, Anna Harris, and others, while match referees are Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira.
