Infinix has finally launched its first foldable mobile, the Infinix Zero Flip, with a clamshell shape. As expected, the phone looks very much like the slightly more recent Tecno Phantom V Flip 2, but this might not come as a shock since Tecno is also from the Transsion Holdings stable.

Design and display
The Zero Flip packs a tall 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, along with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It also brings peak brightness of up to 1400 nits, the same display specs as the Tecno Phantom V Flip 2. The flip phone is also seen with one of the biggest secondary screens available in a clamshell device-one measuring 3.64 inches, with a resolution of 1056 x 1066 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating on top. The secondary display is also an AMOLED panel. A fingerprint sensor is located on the side, offering fast and secure access.

Internals and software In the underbelly, the Infinix Zero Flip has a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and a whopping 512GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the microSD card slot is not provided, like in many mid-range handsets. What caught my eye in the device was its Infinix XOS 14.5, a custom skin sitting on top of Android 14, meaning a different user experience than Tecno’s HiOS. Infinix is committed to providing 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security patches.

Cameras
The camera configuration on the Zero Flip remains pretty much identical to the Phantom V Flip 2. The rear features a primary camera with 50MP and is powered by a Samsung 1/1.57″ GN5 sensor and OIS. The secondary lens is also an ultra-wide with 50MP so you can capture a wider field of view. Both camera shooters at the back support 1080p and 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. Interestingly enough, the selfie camera has been upgraded to 50MP, which replaced the 32MP shooter on the Phantom V Flip 2 and it also supports 4K video at 60 FPS.

Battery and price
The Infinix Zero Flip packs a 4,720mAh battery. This particular battery is known for supporting 70W wired charging, with the ability to accept up to 10W reverse wired charging to act as a power bank as well.

Zero Flip costs N645 in Nigeria, with the two color options: Rock Black and Blossom Glow.
