Pakistan Records Highest-Ever Monthly IT Exports of $310 Million in April

For the first time in the nation’s history, Pakistan has observed a significant rise in IT exports within a single month. In April 2024, IT exports surged to $310 million, a 62.3% increase from $191 million in April 2023.

Minister Fatima stated that boosting IT exports is a top government priority. She credited this remarkable growth to the relentless efforts of the prime minister and the government’s dedicated focus on the IT sector.

“This unprecedented increase in IT exports is a testament to our commitment to bolstering the digital economy and enhancing Pakistan’s position in the global IT market,” she said.

The minister highlighted that this achievement reflects the effective policies and initiatives implemented by the government to create a conducive environment for IT businesses and professionals. She stressed the importance of continued support and investment in the IT industry to maintain this growth trajectory.

Additionally, the Ministry of Information Technology reported a significant rise in IT exports from July to March of the current financial year, with a 17.44% increase amounting to $339 million. Total IT exports during this period reached $2.283 billion, compared to $1.944 billion in the corresponding period last year.

March 2024 alone saw an exceptional boost, with IT exports increasing by $306 million, a 36% rise compared to March 2023. This growth highlights the sector’s robust upward trajectory.
