President’s Cup One-Day Tournament kicks off on October 3

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the President’s Cup One-Day tournament will kick off on October 3, with matches taking place in five different cities.

This year’s tournament will feature nine departmental cricket teams, with the semi-finals scheduled for October 13 and 14, and the final to follow on October 16. All matches will be played during the day, beginning at 9:30 AM, with details about the venues and timings for the semi-finals and final to be revealed later.

The total prize pool for the tournament is PKR 7.75 million, with the champion team set to earn PKR 5 million and the runners-up receiving PKR 2.5 million.

In Group A, the teams include the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).

Group B consists of Eshaal Associates, Ghani Glass, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Television (PTV), and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

The defending champions, SNGPL, will start their campaign against Ghani Glass on October 3 at Saeed Sports City in Bedian, Lahore.

Matches for Group A will be held in Abbottabad, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, while Group B matches are set to take place in Faisalabad and Lahore.
