Provincial government to cover all costs of heart operations, KP Chief Minister

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced that the provincial government will cover all expenses related to heart surgeries.

In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur regarding the health card program, health advisor Atisham Ali, finance advisor Muzamil Aslam, as well as relevant administrative secretaries, health department officials, and State Life Insurance representatives were present.

Chief Minister Gandapur agreed in principle to include citizens’ life insurance in the health card program and directed the relevant authorities to prepare a formal plan for approval as soon as possible.

He took note of complaints about heart patients not receiving surgeries due to reduced rates under the health card at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and instructed health card officials to ensure that heart surgeries are covered under the health card.

Gandapur stated that the provincial government will bear all costs for heart surgeries, ensuring that no burden is placed on patients and that they face no difficulties.

He emphasized that the Health Card Plus initiative is a flagship project close to Imran Khan’s heart and will be further improved.

The provincial government is also working on including treatment for additional diseases in the health card program.

He mentioned that for the convenience of citizens, more reputable hospitals will be included in the health card program.

The provincial government is prioritizing the payment of outstanding dues to State Life Insurance under the health card scheme, ensuring that there are no obstacles in providing free medical treatment facilities to the public.
