Punjab government to spend 612.475 million rupees on luxury cars for officials

As soon as the loan program from the IMF was approved, bureaucratic extravagance reached new heights. Approval has been granted to purchase luxury vehicles for 20 parliamentary secretaries in Punjab.

According to details, a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, approved the purchase of the most expensive luxury vehicles for the parliamentary secretaries of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

According to official documents received by media, approval was given to purchase an additional 20 luxury vehicles for 20 PML-N parliamentary secretaries, despite them already possessing luxury vehicles.

The parliamentary secretaries, appointed by PML-N, will be given new vehicles worth millions of rupees. These vehicles will be purchased at a cost of 612.475 million rupees.

The documents indicate that 76 of the most expensive vehicles will be purchased for officials.

The parliamentary secretaries will receive 22 crore to 29 luxury vehicles, and 15 vehicles will be purchased for the S&GAD at a cost of 99.6 million rupees, while the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Ahmad Raza Sarwar, had requested the purchase of 76 luxury vehicles.

Two luxury vehicles worth 36.1 million rupees will also be purchased from Indus Motors for the S&GAD’s protocol.

For the provincial ministers’ protocol, 30 luxury vehicles will be purchased at a cost of 209 million rupees, and an additional 17.495 million rupees will be paid in vehicle taxes. A further 30 million rupees will be spent on the decoration of 30 vehicles.

Although only nine vehicles were needed for the parliamentary secretaries, approval was granted to purchase an additional 20 vehicles as well.
