Tensions surged across the Middle East on Saturday as a series of strikes and counterattacks linked to Iran, the United States, and Israel unfolded rapidly, triggering explosions and military warnings across several countries.

According to international news agencies, the U.S. military operation in Iran is being monitored from President Donald Trump’s resort, Mar-a-Lago, where he is currently present. Reports said the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are overseeing the operation.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli official claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian were among those targeted in the strikes, though the outcome remains unclear. Iran has not officially confirmed any damage to its top leadership.

Meanwhile, Iranian sources confirmed that U.S. bases in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates were targeted. Loud explosions were also reported at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Iran’s Foreign Minister warned that all American military bases in the region could be considered targets.

In Saudi Arabia, residents reported hearing explosions in the capital, Riyadh, adding to fears that the conflict could spread further. Yemen’s Houthi movement also claimed attacks against Israel and vessels in nearby sea routes, signaling a widening confrontation.

In a separate development, an Israeli strike reportedly hit a girls’ school in the Iranian city of Manab, killing at least five people, according to Iranian state media.

Britain has stated that it is not involved in the U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran. At the same time, a German government spokesperson said Berlin had received prior information about Israeli attacks early Saturday and is in close contact with European partners regarding the situation.

As events continue to unfold, the region remains on high alert, with global leaders closely watching the rapidly escalating crisis.

Moreover, The Middle East has entered a new phase of conflict after the United States and Israel launched preemptive strikes on Iranian targets on Saturday. US President Donald Trump announced the start of “major combat operations,” signaling a sharp escalation in regional tensions.

In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the launch of a first wave of missiles and drones targeting Israel. Explosions were reported across parts of the Persian Gulf, including in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, triggering air raid sirens and activating regional air defense systems.

Residents in Abu Dhabi reported loud blasts. The UAE confirmed one casualty after intercepting incoming Iranian missiles. Bahrain said a facility linked to the US Fifth Fleet had been targeted. In Kuwait, state media reported missiles were neutralized, while Jordan confirmed shooting down two ballistic missiles aimed at its territory. Saudi Arabia reported explosions in Riyadh, though authorities provided no immediate details.

Qatar intercepted an Iranian missile using US-made Patriot defense systems. Officials stressed there was no damage, though the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US installation in the region, was within range of the attack.

Simultaneously, Israel carried out airstrikes across multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Tabriz, Qom, Karaj, Khorramabad, Kermanshah, and Ilam. Among the primary targets was the office complex of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Officials said he was not present during the attack and had been moved to a secure location. Videos showed black smoke rising from areas associated with the Supreme Leader’s headquarters, which Iranians referred to online as the “leader’s house.”

The Israeli operation, named “Lion’s Roar,” was reportedly planned for months in coordination with Washington. US participation included air and sea strikes, with targets and damage assessments still being evaluated.
