Mumbai:The classic romantic film “Veer-Zaara” has crossed the 100 crore mark at the global box office following its re-release, two decades after its initial launch.
Indian media reports that Yash Chopra’s iconic film returned to theaters on September 13, where it experienced significant success.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh indicated that “Veer-Zaara” grossed 20 lakh on its opening day, 32 lakh on Saturday, 38 lakh on Sunday, 20 lakh on Monday, 18 lakh on Tuesday, 15 lakh on Wednesday, and 14 lakh on Thursday.
This brought its domestic earnings from the re-release to 1.57 crore, alongside 0.23 crore from international markets, resulting in total re-release earnings of 1.80 crore.
Additionally, it was noted that the film was re-released earlier this year in February, earning 0.30 crore then.
Originally released in 2005, “Veer-Zaara” grossed 98 crore worldwide during its first run.
With an additional 2.50 crore earned between 2005 and 2023, its overall lifetime earnings have now reached 102.60 crore globally.
The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, and Divya Dutta.
