He advised Imran Khan not to speak so boldly, urging him to learn humility and seek forgiveness from Allah, saying, “As you do, you will reap.”
While addressing the audience at a loan scheme event in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif emphasized the positive aspect of providing loans without charging any interest.
He stated that if the representatives of the people were allowed to work in the country, no one would be homeless today.
He recalled that during his first term in office, numerous schemes were initiated, but he was ousted, and similar challenges persisted during his second term, as every two steps forward were met with eight steps backward.
He questioned which government has accomplished as much as the PML-N, citing achievements such as the construction of motorways, the eradication of load-shedding, and the fight against terrorism.
He added that the PML-N made Pakistan a nuclear power and launched the Orange Line project, challenging those who boast about planting one billion trees and building 350 dams to reveal the status of those projects.
Nawaz Sharif noted that Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif are making significant efforts to reduce electricity costs.
He indicated that electricity rates have risen sharply and that the federal government is considering solar panels as a solution to address high rates, although it will require substantial funding and time.
He mentioned that while they bid farewell to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), their opponents keep bringing it back.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he questioned their intentions, suggesting that they want to instigate conflict between provinces.
He highlighted that protests are called from prison but there are never calls for welfare projects.
He pointed out that hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lack facilities for the public, forcing patients to come to Punjab for treatment.
He challenged them to explain where the billion trees, housing schemes, and other projects are, insisting that if they wish to compete with PML-N, they should serve the people in their own province by providing health cards, farmer cards, loan schemes, and other facilities.
Nawaz Sharif remarked that those blindly following PTI like sheep should ask them where the promise of fifty lakh homes has gone, emphasizing that their performance is zero while they excel in violence and protests.
He asserted that whether in government or opposition, their sole purpose is to protest; they did not build motorways for protests.
He recalled that PTI staged a four-month protest in Islamabad while he was in the Prime Minister’s House, where threats were made against him to drag him out by the neck.
He noted that this was said by a person who is now in jail. He also mentioned threats against the Inspector General (IG), Chief Secretary, and others to put them in jail.
Nawaz Sharif advised Imran Khan to refrain from making bold statements, urging him to learn humility and seek forgiveness from Allah, adding that “as you do, you will reap” and citing the English proverb that what you do will come to light.
