Head coach of the red-ball format Jason Gillespie has made public his decision to leave out Kamran Ghulam, a homegrown star, from the team for the England home series.
Kamran Ghulam was included in the squad for the home series against Bangladesh but was recently left out for the series against England, even though he scored a ton of runs in the Champions One Day Cup, which featured a number of elite players.
Salman Butt, a former cricket player, asked head coach Jason Gillespie during Champions Cup commentary why Kamran Ghulam was dropped despite his constant performance.
“I have seen Kamran Ghulam perform well with Pakistan Shaheens in Darwin,” Gillespie retorted. Although we are proud with his performance, we want to trust the present team going into the series against England.”
The head coach advised the domestic performer to continue representing his teams in the Champions One Day Cup and President’s Cup.
On the other hand, fans criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) selection committee for repeatedly overlooking Kamran Ghulam, stating that such decisions are demoralizing for players.
