Hania Amir and Wahaj Ali set to shine as perfect Heer Ranjha duo

The famous Pakistani filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter Nadeem Baig has recommended actresses Wahaj Ali and Hania Aamir as the best options to adapt the legendary Heer Ranjha love story for the big screen. Last year, Hania Aamir and Wahaj Ali were paired together in the drama Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha, where their on-screen chemistry was widely acclaimed by the audience.

Wahaj Ali played the character of Saad, while Hania Aamir represented his cousin, Maheer, with Zaviyar Noman Ijaz also starring in the cast. Even if the drama didn’t succeed as much as anticipated, the two never failed to win over viewers’ hearts when they shared a screen.

Nadeem Baig recently appeared on Iffat Omar’s podcast, where he talked about a range of topics related to Pakistani plays, such as their plots, actors, award shows, and different aspects of the entertainment industry.

During the podcast, Iffat Omar asked Nadeem Baig who he would cast if the classic tale of Heer Ranjha were to be remade. Baig responded, “I believe *Heer Ranjha* is such a pure and romantic love story that the actors chosen should reflect that. I would cast Hania and Wahaj.” He further added, “Hania would be perfect for the role of Heer, and I’d love to see Wahaj Ali portray Ranjha.”

Historians often depict Heer as a brave, loving character in various retellings of the story, while Ranjha is remembered as her devoted lover.

When asked about casting for Devdas, Baig suggested Mahira Khan as the ideal choice for Paro, Mehwish Hayat for Chandramukhi, and either Humayun Saeed or Fawad Khan for the role of Devdas.
