Inauguration of hybrid double-decker buses for first time in pakistan’s history

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally inaugurated the first-ever hybrid double-decker buses in Pakistan’s history.

According to media, five new hybrid double-decker buses will operate on new routes in Lahore to promote tourism. Additionally, one double-decker bus each will be added in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi.

Double-decker bus services will also be launched in Multan and Faisalabad for tourism purposes.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inspected one of the hybrid double-decker buses and took a ride, while the relevant officials briefed her.

During the briefing, it was mentioned that the double-decker bus service, under the TDCP (Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab), was first launched in November 2015 during the tenure of former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

These tourist buses are used by academia, diplomats, state guests, the corporate sector, celebrities, and the general public to visit tourist spots.

In Lahore, the new tourist bus routes will run from Gaddafi Stadium to various tourist locations.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that modern and eco-friendly buses will be provided for metropolitan tourism throughout Punjab.
