Minister asks industry to reduce high power costs through transition to solar energy Chaudhry Shafay attends AGM of Electric Manufacturers Association

Lahore: Provincial Industries Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain attended the annual general meeting of the Pakistan Electric Manufacturers Association as the chief guest. During the event, he administered the oath to the newly elected officials and executive members and congratulated them on their election victory.

In his address, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain stated that more than 150,000 jobs are linked to the fan industry and emphasized the government’s commitment to work collectively for the betterment of this industry. He highlighted the need to find solutions for the issue of high electricity costs through a transition to solar energy, announcing that a new industrial estate in Gujarat is already in the planning stages.

He further mentioned that an Artificial Intelligence college would also be established in Gujarat, along with ongoing work on the establishment of a Business Facilitation Center and a Safe City project. He referred to the problems in Gujarat’s sewage and infrastructure due to the incompetence of previous rulers, promising that the government would address these issues.

The newly elected Chairman of PEEMA, Nabeel Ahmad Elyas, and the outgoing chairman, Umair Rafiq, also shared their views on industry challenges. Other prominent figures attended the event, where the provincial minister distributed awards and shields to the industrialists.

Finally, Chaudhry Shafaq Hussain inaugurated PEEMA’s new office and engaged in discussions with industrialists regarding industry issues.
