Pakistan emphasizes end to hostilities and resolution of conflicts in Middle East

Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, calling for an end to hostilities and urging all parties to prioritize peace and resolve conflicts.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s concern over the increasing warfare in the region, urging all sides to focus on peace.

She stated that in recent months, Israel’s violations of international law and the UN Charter have led to a severe humanitarian crisis.

The ongoing genocide in Gaza has jeopardized the peace and security of the entire region.

She also noted that recent attacks on Lebanon have further escalated tensions, impacting the lives of innocent civilians.

The Foreign Office spokesperson highlighted that the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and the wider region have the right to live free from fear and violence.

It is critical for all parties to de-escalate, and the international community must act immediately to prevent the situation from worsening.

She stressed the importance of ending the culture of impunity for violations of international law.

Pakistan once again called on the UN Security Council to maintain peace and security in the region, protect Lebanon’s sovereignty, and take steps to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding support for a two-state solution, noting that a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue, in accordance with international law and the resolutions of the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is essential for lasting peace in the Middle East.
