PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan commit to enhancing trade, investment, and Defense ties

After meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday, PM Shehbaz spoke to the media and expressed gratitude to these nations for their prior support of Pakistan. President Erdogan’s address on Palestine at the UN especially touched him.

The Meeting

President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz earlier promised to strengthen their partnership in commerce, business, security, and defense.

According to a news release from the PM’s Office, the leaders reviewed bilateral ties and spoke about important regional and global concerns when they met on the fringes of the 79th UN General Assembly.The seventh meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which is scheduled to take place in Islamabad shortly, was also a topic of discussion.

The leaders of both countries called for an immediate ceasefire and a stop to hostilities during their discussion, which focused on pressing international issues, mainly the bloodshed and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

PM Shehbaz commended Turkey’s steadfast support for the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

President Erdogan, in turn, commended Shehbaz for his economic leadership and highlighted his initiatives to stabilize Pakistan’s economy through significant reforms.
